Introduction

My name is Darren Masterson.  I am a graduate from Oakland University and Grand Canyon University.  This is my 3rd Year teaching and I love Middle School.  Please take sometime to browse our site and familiarize yourself with it.  Middle School students are at an important crossroads.  Good choices are necessary to ensure success in High School.

I feel a responsibility to help student's achieve their GOALS!

I currently work full time as a 6th,7th & 8th grade science teacher and Writing/Test Taking instructor within the Mayville School District.
I simply love kids and being around them.  I have found that I have an affinity towards kids and we just mesh.  I have four children ages; 18, 15 and twins that are 12.  As a parent, I have direct association with the parents that I will serve as a teacher to their child. Furthermore, my daughter is dyslexic and has had an IEP since she was 10.  I have a profound association with the struggling student.  My empathy and desire to see growth draws upon my wisdom from the educational experiences my daughter and I have shared together.
I am a team player.  I consider myself easy to work with, supportive of my superiors and a consummate worker.
Finally, I am sincerely privileged to see my dream come true.

Testimonial

I hated science and math before Middle School.

Mr. Masterson's class helped me to see the future and why STEM is important to my life.

I now look forward to High School.

Thomas Voght, 8th grade
